1. Who is responsible for your data
Marrona operates this website and is the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach the people who handle it at admin@marronawork.com. Every privacy request in this policy goes to that address and is handled by a person, not a ticket queue.
2. What we collect, and why
When you place an order
- Your name, delivery address, email address and any delivery note. We cannot ship a clipper without them. Legal basis: performance of the contract you entered into with us.
- Your order contents and reference number. Kept so we can fulfil, invoice, honour the warranty and process a return.
We do not take card details on this website. When you place an order we email you a payment link, and the card data is entered with, and held by, the payment provider that issues that link. It never reaches our servers.
When you email us or use the contact form
- Your name, email address and whatever you write. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you, and performance of the contract where the message concerns an order.
When you subscribe to the newsletter
- Your email address only. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
When you simply visit
- Standard server logs recorded by our hosting and CDN provider: IP address, user agent, requested URL, referrer and timestamp. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the site available and defending it against abuse.
There is no analytics script, no advertising pixel and no third-party tracker on this site. We do not build a profile of you, and we cannot tell you which pages you personally looked at.
3. Cookies and browser storage
This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies, and shows no cookie banner because it has nothing to ask you to consent to.
Your shopping bag is kept in your browser's local storage under the key marrona.bag.v1. It records the product, variant and quantity you added. It stays on your device, is never transmitted to us, and is not readable by any other site. Clearing your browser data empties your bag.
Our hosting and CDN provider may set a strictly necessary cookie to route traffic and mitigate attacks. It carries no advertising identifier.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and we never have. We share the minimum necessary with the service providers who make an order possible, each acting on our instructions as a processor:
- Our payment provider — receives your name, email and order total in order to issue and settle the payment link.
- Our delivery carrier — receives your name, delivery address and, where you have asked for tracking updates, your email.
- Our email delivery provider — receives your email address to send order confirmations, dispatch notices and, if you subscribed, the newsletter.
- Our hosting and CDN provider — processes the server log data described above.
We will also disclose data where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim. If you want the current names of the providers in each category before you order, email us and we will tell you.
5. Where your data is processed
Our providers operate internationally, so your data may be processed outside the country you live in, including outside the UK, the EEA and Switzerland. Where that happens we rely on transfer mechanisms recognised by the receiving and sending jurisdictions, such as standard contractual clauses, and on providers who commit contractually to equivalent protection.
6. How long we keep it
- Order and invoice records — six years after the order, because tax law requires it.
- Warranty records — for the duration of the two-year warranty, plus one year.
- Contact and support correspondence — 24 months from the last message in the thread.
- Newsletter subscription — until you unsubscribe, which deletes the address from the list.
- Server logs — 30 days, then automatically discarded.
7. Your rights
If the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to you
- Access — ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — have inaccurate data corrected.
- Erasure — have data deleted, except records we must keep for tax or to defend a claim.
- Restriction — have us stop processing while a dispute about accuracy or legitimate interest is resolved.
- Portability — receive the data you gave us in a machine-readable file.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests, including any direct marketing.
- Withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.
- Complain — to your national supervisory authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office.
If you live in California
- Know — what categories of personal information we collected, the sources, the purposes and the categories of recipients.
- Delete — request deletion, subject to the record-keeping exceptions above.
- Correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell or share personal information as the CCPA and CPRA define those terms, so there is nothing to opt out of and no "Do Not Sell" link to click.
- No discrimination — exercising any of these rights will never change the price you pay or the service you get.
To use any right, email admin@marronawork.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm something only the account holder would know — an order reference, for instance — so that we do not hand your data to somebody else.
8. Children
This site sells grooming tools to adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
9. Security
The site is served over HTTPS only. Order records are held in access-controlled systems, and access is limited to the people who need it to fulfil orders and answer support. No system is perfect: if a breach ever affects your data and poses a risk to you, we will tell you and the relevant regulator within the deadlines the law sets.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes affecting existing customers will also be sent by email.
