Care

After each groom: brush the blade, detach it, rinse under warm water, dry fully, and add two drops of oil along the teeth. Store the combs in the tray so the tips stay true.

The part that matters

Forty minutes of cutting before the blade gets warm.

We tested against six of the best-selling home clippers. After ten minutes of continuous cutting, most steel blades sat 14–20°C above room temperature. Ours sat at six.

  • Ceramic doesn't conduct heat into the skin the way steel does.
  • Titanium coating on the moving cutter keeps the edge through matted coat.
  • Blade tension is factory-set and doesn't drift — nothing to adjust.

Charge it like a phone

Three hours of grooming from one cable you already own.

A 2,600 mAh cell gives 180 minutes of runtime and charges fully in two and a half hours over USB-C. Ten minutes on the cable buys you a full paw trim. The LED ring around the switch reads out the exact percentage, so you never start a groom you can't finish.

  • Runs while charging — plug in and keep going if you misjudge it.
  • Battery is replaceable at our workshop rather than binned with the tool.

Paid for itself in six weeks

Two schnauzers at $95 a visit, every six weeks, is $1,600 a year I no longer spend. I was expecting to butcher the first haircut and I sort of did around the beard, but it grew back and the second one was fine. The 6 mm comb is the whole trick for a schnauzer body.

The battery readout isn't a gimmick

Sounds like a spec-sheet feature until you have had a clipper die halfway down a dog's spine and had to explain to the dog why he is now asymmetrical. I glance at the ring, see 60%, and know I'm finishing the job. Charged it twice in two months of fortnightly trims.

Wish the 16 mm had been in the box

12 mm is still shorter than I want on a doodle in winter, so I ended up ordering the long-coat set a week later — mildly annoying, hence four stars. Cut quality itself is better than the salon-grade kit I retired, and it is dramatically quieter. She used to shake through the whole thing and now she doesn't.

Our rescue is noise-phobic. This works.

Fireworks, vacuum, hairdryer — all impossible. I genuinely did not expect to be able to groom him at home at all. It is not silent, but it is a low hum rather than that high whine, and after two short sessions he tolerates it standing. That is the first time in three years.

Sent the blade back and they actually sharpened it

Eighteen months in, the blade started dragging on thicker patches. Posted it in the sleeve that came in the box on a Monday, had it back the following week, and it cuts like it did on day one. No invoice, no upsell email afterwards. I did not expect the free-for-life thing to be real.

Not the tool for a husky, as advertised

Three stars is on me — the FAQ does say not to shave a double coat and I bought it anyway hoping to shortcut shedding season. It will not power through dense undercoat and it is not supposed to. As a paw, feathering and sanitary trimmer it is excellent and I have kept it for that. Support replied within a day and offered a refund I did not take.
